boxes

performance, 2011 (from the multiple (un)related causes)

This performance grew out in a series of performances called ‘multiple (un)related causes’ where I experiment with: rules, objects, physical actions, repetition and orders.  The series includes the performances: Instructions, Order of things and Sing, Sync, Sink that are dealing with the same kind of elements and using sound recording, language, text, audience involvement and timing.  The first in the series ‘multiple (un)related causes’ was performed in Triple Bill, a performance art event including works by Andrés Galeano (DE/ES) and Sian Robinson Davies (UK),  curated by Christopher Hewitt in the theatre Chokohof in Berlin, 2011.  I created this performance specially for the black box.  It starts with me bringing a box on the stage and place it next to me. I open it up and take out sunglasses and put them on, in return I take of my shoes and place them in the empty box.  After this I bring another box on the stage and take out a skirt and pull it on and in return pull of my socks and place them in the empty box.  Then I go back to the first box and take out the shoes to wear them again and exchange this with my pants.  Then I get a third box and this continues, boxes are growing, I keep exchanging the items and some items are connected with a actions.
